Architectural shift

From distributed ECUs to centralized DCUs and ZCUs.
Modern vehicles are undergoing a fundamental architectural shift. Electrification, automation and connected services require significantly more computing power, while safety, efficiency and scalability remain critical requirements.

European sovereignty

RIGOLETTO strengthens Europe’s ability to design and control key automotive microelectronics technologies.
RIGOLETTO contributes to the goals of the EU Chips Joint Undertaking and the Vehicle of the Future initiative. The project supports a European RISC-V-based hardware ecosystem closely linked to the emerging software-defined vehicle landscape.

RIGOLETTO in the European RISC-V Ecosystem

RIGOLETTO is part of a broader European RISC-V ecosystem. Initiatives such as TRISTAN, ISOLDE, the OpenHW Group and the Unified RISC-V IP Access Platform help make European RISC-V IP more visible, reusable and accessible across research and industry.

The UAP acts as a catalogue and common access point for RISC-V IP assets developed in European projects. It supports better documentation, metadata, visibility and long-term reuse of project results.
